The end of summer is near and soon school will begin! Kids are crying while parents everywhere are rejoicing! Ha Ha. I hope you had a great summer. I know I am so looking forward to the coolness of Fall!!
We all know well that we can do things for others and in the process, crush them, making them feel that they are incapable of doing things by themselves. To love someone is to reveal to them their capacities for life, the light that is shining in them."

Empower: To equip or supply with an ability; enable
If I had to some up our efforts in Haiti it would be we are on a mission of empowerment.
Through our schools we are providing an education to empower kids for the future.
Through our churches we are introducing people to our Most High God.
Through our water, transportation, agriculture and cottage industries we are empowering people to provide for themselves and their families.
You gifts enable us to empower them - thank you!
On my most recent trip to Haiti, I was joined by Northwoods Church and Crossbridge Church both located in Tallahassee. We are able to build benches for our church/school and successfully launched our greeting card project. We hope this new project will provide us with additional resources to support our feeding projects in our schools. I will send another update in a few weeks detailing how you can purchase these cards that were produced by the children in our St Marc school.

The team hard at work - They constructed 21 benches!!!

From Max Lucado: Bold Love
"The love of a mother for her child . . . is there a love any deeper?
The love of God for his children . . . is there a love any bolder?
Woven through scripture, like the ribbons on a newborn's quilt, are gentle reminders that God's love is like that of a mother: deep, unrelenting, bold.
As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you . . .
(Isaiah 66:13).
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands . . .
(Isaiah 49:15-16).
But we were very gentle with you, like a mother caring for her little children . . . (I Thess. 2:7)
A bold love . . . the love of a mother . . . the love of the Father."

Often times when I take a group to Haiti I am asked, How can you keep doing "this"? They do not ask me this because they don't understand the need... they ask because Haiti has a way of overwhelming you. "How do you function in this world of great poverty and need. How do you manage the heat, the travel; which at times is quite treacherous, how do you decide who to help?"
I just love the Haitian people... I think Haiti, dream about Haiti, always talking about and praying for Haiti.
God has knit them to my heart. I think they are the most resilient people on the face of the earth. They continue to overcome, rise above and make it through any difficulty that is placed before them.
THEY inspire me to press on....
THEY inspire my faith...
THEY are a blessing to me...
THEY have made me a better man ...
Their love for me and our efforts is a BOLD love!

I can not express my gratitude for your prayers, encouragement and financial support of our work. It is an expression of your love for me and the beautiful Haitian people.
Thank you, God bless
